## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

TOOK OFF FROM CHIGNIK LAGOON FOR THE SHORT HOP OVER TO CHIGNIK LAKE. ALL WAS NORMAL WEATHER WAS FINE BUT THERE WAS A GOOD BIT OF WIND AND TURBULENCE AS A RESULT PILOT POWERED BACK FOR MANEUVERING SPEED. ON ABOUT A FOUR MILE FINAL PILOT GLANCED AT AIRSPEED NOTED THAT HE WAS BELOW GEAR EXTENSION SPEED AT WHICH POINT HE WOULD USUALLY PUT HIS APPROACH FLAPS AND LANDING GEAR DOWN BUT SOMEHOW HE ONLY PUT IN THE FLAPS MISSING THE GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
