## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING AT 6,000 FEET WHEN THE ENGINE QUIT RUNNING. HE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE ENGINE USING THE LEFT AND RIGHT FUEL TANK BUT IT FAILED TO START. ACCORDING TO HIS STATEMENT, THE FUEL PRESSURE INDICATOR WAS SHOWING THERE WAS NO FUEL PRESSURE. THE PILOT SAID THERE WERE NO AIRFIELDS CLOSE ENOUGH SO HE CHOSE TO LAND ON THE HIGHWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN A FIELD PARALELL TO THE HIGHWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN22LA059](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN22LA059), Dec 2, 2021: Beech A36 (N8038Z), Cleveland, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power due to fuel starvation, the reason for which could not be determined.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
