## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

1/7/2022 @16:10 ROC CALLED FOR EVENT 697908, "PHOENIX, AZ (IWA): N4403P, P28A, BIRD STRIKE (HAWK) ON FINAL RWY 3OC." AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATED BY CAE FOR A TRAINING FLIGHT AND WAS ABOUT 2 NM SOUTHWEST OF GATEWAY AIRPORT WHEN A BIRD, BELIEVED TO BE A HAWK, IMPACTED THE RIGHT WING JUST OUTBOARD OF THE LANDING GEAR. DAMAGE DID NOT SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECT FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS AND AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY. THE NTSB AND CAE SAFETY OFFICER PARTICIPATED IN THE CONFERENCE HOSTED BY THE ROC. AFTER REVIEW OF PHOTOS PROVIDED, THE NTSB CLASSIFIED THE DAMAGE AS MINOR AND THE EVENT AN INCIDENT. NO OPERATIONAL OR TECHNICAL FACTORS IDENTIFIED AND NO CORRECTIVE ACTION NECESSARY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
