## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 16, 2022, N851SR, A SINGLE ENGINE LIGHT SPORT AIRCRAFT (LSA) WITH SEA LANDING CAPABILITY, LANDED AT FERNANDO RIBAS DOMINICCI AIRPORT SIG ON RUNWAY 09 WITH THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED. N851SR SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE AND THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^THE PILOT IN COMMAND, REPORTED TO FAA INSPECTORS THAT HE FORGOT TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR WHILE LANDING AT SIG. THE PILOT FURTHER STATED THAT HE DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY MECHANICAL DIFFICULTIES WITH THE AIRPLANE AND THAT HE WAS RETURNING TO SIG AFTER PERFORMING SEVERAL WATER LANDINGS AT TORTUGUERO LAGOON, WHICH IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 18 NAUTICAL MILES WEST FROM SIG.

ACCORDING TO THE AIRCRAFT CHECKLIST THAT WAS ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT, FAA INSPECTORS FOUND THAT THERE WAS A CHECKLIST ITEM TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR IF LANDING ON LAND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
