## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 27, 2022, AIRCRAFT C-FDHB, A DEHAVILLAND DHC-6, WAS LANDED AT HOUSTON HOBBY AIRPORT (IAH) AND REPORTED A BRAKE FIRE AFTER LANDING. THE PART 129 OPERATOR,^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, STATED THE FLIGHT WAS OPERATING UNDER PART 91 AT THE TIME. AFTER THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON THE RUNWAY, THE PILOT STATED HE FELT MORE DRAG ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PLANE AS HE BRAKED TO SLOW DOWN. THE ENGINEER SITTING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE NOTIFIED THE CREW OF A FIRE NEAR THE LEFT BRAKE AREA. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED, SHUT DOWN AND THE ENGINEER EXITED WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. INITIAL INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE BRAKE CALIPER HAD BROKEN OFF, ROTATED FORWARD AND APPEARED TO HAVE BROKEN OFF THE BRAKE HYDRAULIC LINE.

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT, COMPANY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL REMOVED AND REPLACED THE DAMAGED BRAKE ASSEMBLY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. IT WAS THEN FLOWN TO AIRPORT YYC THE NEXT DAY WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
