## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE STUDENT PILOT WAS ON HIS FIRST SOLO FLIGHT. AFTER PERFORMING HIS FIRST TRAFFIC PATTERN AND A NORMAL FIRST LANDING, THE AIRPLANE VEERED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AFTER TOUCHDOWN, STRIKING 1.5-FOOT SNOWBANK (ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RUNWAY FROM PLOWING). THE PLANE TRAVELED UP THE SNOWBANK, NOSED OVER, AND CAME TO REST UPSIDE DOWN. THE STUDENT PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA113](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA113), Jan 30, 2022: Cessna 172 (N1766V), Waynesboro, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s loss of directional control while landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
