## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 31, 2022, THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PERFORMING SOLO TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS WITH HIS INSTRUCTOR OBSERVING IN THE VICINITY OF RUNWAY 18 AT JOHNSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE AIRPORT (OJC). ON THE SECOND TAKEOFF ROLL, THE STUDENT PILOT PERCEIVED AN UNFAMILIAR RUMBLING SENSATION FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND HE SUBSEQUENTLY EXECUTED A REJECTED TAKEOFF. DURING THE REJECTED TAKEOFF, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT AND HIT A RUNWAY LIGHT AS IT VEERED OFF INTO THE GRASS. PILOT REGAINED CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AT TAXIWAY BRAVO AND TAXIIED THE ARCRAFT BACK TO THE MAINTENANCE HANGAR FOR INSPECTION. MAINTENANCE INDICATED MINOR COSMETIC DAMAGE OF THE LEFT WHEEL FAIRING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
