## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING ON AT A SNOW COVERED OFF AIRPORT FIELD, THE SOLO PILOT MADE SEVERAL PASSES OVER THE LANDING AREA. DURING FINAL APPROACH THE PILOT REPORTED THE NATURAL LIGHTING HAD CHANGED TO "FLAT" LIGHT. HE DETERMINED HE MISJUDGED HIS HEIGHT ABOVE THE GROUND AND DID A VERY HARD LANDING. ONCE TOUCHING DOWN, BOTH SKI GEAR COLLAPSED, LEADING TO THE PROPELLER BEING BENT AND THE COWLING SLIGHTLY DENTED. NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS CAUSED BY LANDING. NO INJURIES TO THE SOLO PILOT, NO FIRE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
