## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

-WHILE LANDING FROM A HOVER, THE HELICOPTER DRIFTED TOWARDS THE HANGAR AS IT WAS STILL LIGHT ON THE SKIDS.

-THE PILOT PANICKED AND APPLIED AFT LEFT CYCLIC.

-THE HELICOPTER CONTINUED TOWARDS THE HANGAR AND THE HELICOPTER LIFTED HIGHER AND CAME TO REST ON THE HANGAR ROOF WHERE IT EXPERIENCE DYNAMIC ROLLOVER.

-THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THERE WERE NO PREIMPACT MECHANICAL MALFUNCTIONS OR FAILURES THAT WOULD HAVE PRECLUDED NORMAL OPERATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22LA096](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22LA096), Feb 11, 2022: Bell 47 (N1023V), Fallon, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain control of the helicopter during a hover which, resulted in a collision with a hangar.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
