## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED FOR UNKNOWN REASONS IN AN AREA OF PRIVATE AIRCRAFT HANGARS, LOCATED AT THE TRIANGLE AIRPARK, (AZ50), IN WHITE HILLS, ARIZONA.

THE PILOT WAS KILLED BY EXTENSIVE TRAUMATIC INJURIES UPON IMPACT. THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED.

THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED ADJACENT TO A LARGE HANGAR AND DEBRIS WAS SCATTERED OVER A LARGE AREA.

IT APPEARS THAT PARTS OF THE TAIL SECTION AND A PORTION OF ONE WING CAME OFF OF THE AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THEY WERE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER MILE FROM THE CRASH SITE.

TO BE AMENDED AT A LATER DATE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22FA100](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22FA100), Feb 19, 2022: Moynihan Richard D Vans RV-7A (N787NV), White Hills, AZ, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper aerobatic maneuver leading to an airspeed that exceeded the airplane’s design limits, which resulted in rudder flutter and an in-flight breakup.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
