## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 1500 EST ON 02/19/2022, A PIPER PA-28 (N8414N) WAS IN ROUTE FROM AIRLAKE AIRPORT, MN (KLVN) TO MONROE COUNTY AIRPORT, IN (KBMG). APPROXIMATELY 11 TO 12 MILES SOUTHEAST OF TERRE HAUTE REGIONAL AIRPORT (KHUF), THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGANCY DUE TO THE ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH. THE PILOT DID NOT THINK HE COULD REACH KHUF AIRPORT AND DECIDED TO LAND IN A FIELD. THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IN A CORN FIELD WITH FROZEN GROUND. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR INJURIES TO THE PILOT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
