## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 8, 2022 AT 2117Z, N210GE WAS APPROACHING CENTENNIAL AIRPORT (APA) FROM THE SOUTH ON THE ILS 35R APPROACH. DURING THE APPROACH, CENTENNIAL TOWER INSTRUCTED THE AIRCRAFT TO SIDESTEP FOR LANDING ON RUNWAY 35L. AT APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET AGL, THE AIRCRAFT INITIATED THE SIDESTEP MANEUVER AND THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO ADD POWER TO EXTEND THE GLIDE PATH, BUT THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND. UNABLE TO GLIDE TO THE RUNWAY, THE INSTRUCTOR EXECUTED A FORCED LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN THE MEDIAN OF HIGHWAY E470, APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE PRIOR TO THE APPROACH END OF RUNWAY 35L. FOLLOWING IMPACT, A FIRE STARTED NEAR THE ENGINE COWLING. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE FROM IMPACT AND POST-CRASH FIRE. WEATHER CONDITIONS AT 2053Z WERE WINDS VARIABLE AT 3 KNOTS, 10 MILES VISIBILITY, FEW CLOUDS AT 8000 FEET AND FEW CLOUDS AT 20,000 FEET. TWO OCCUPANTS, MINOR INJURIES.

NOTE: FOLLOWING THIS ACCIDENT, THE PILOTS AND AIRCRAFT WERE EXTENSIVELY INVESTIGATED. POSTRECOVERY AIRFRAME AND ENGINE EXAMINATIONS DID NOT REVEAL ANY ANOMALIES CONSISTENT WITH AN INABILITY OF THE FUEL-INJECTED ENGINE TO PRODUCE RATED POWER. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS NO INDICATION THE FLIGHT CREWMEMBER'S ACTIONS CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACCIDENT.
