## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT DEPARTED FROM SALMON, ID (KSMN) AT 1600 LOCAL. AFTER A PROLONGED FLIGHT DUE TO STRONG HEADWINDS, THE PILOT ARRIVED IN BONNER'S FERRY, ID (K65S), AND MADE AN ATTEMPT TO LAND. THE FIRST ATTEMPT RESULTED IN A BOUNCE AND THE PILOT EXECUTED A GO-AROUND. ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AGAIN AND THE PILOT ADDED POWER TO STABILIZE AND BRING THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT MADE A WHEEL LANDING. WHEN THE TAILWHEEL TOUCHED DOWN THE PILOT EXPERIENCED A POWERFUL SWERVE TO THE RIGHT, AND COUNTERED WITH FULL LEFT RUDDER. THIS CAUSED THE LEFT WINGTIP TO STRIKE THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A SNOW/ICE BANK CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING, LEFT ELEVATOR, PROPELLER AND MAIN LANDING GEAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
