## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N97WG, A CCX-2000 EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING ON RUNWAY 31 AT THE DALLES AIRPORT (DLS). THE PILOT TOUCHED DOWN AND WHEN THE TAIL WHEEL CONTACTED THE RUNWAY THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT, GROUND LOOPING THE AIRCRAFT. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED TO THE RIGHT THE LEFT HAND (LH) MAIN LANDING GEAR SHOCK FAILED AND THIS RESULTED IN THE LH MAIN GEAR COLLAPSING UNDER THE AIRCRAFT AND THE TIP OF THE LH WING CONTACTED THE RUNWAY RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE WING AND LH AILERON.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22LA122](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22LA122), Mar 11, 2022: Raviraj Mohil CCX-2000 (N97WG), The Dalles, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
