## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC22LA025](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC22LA025), Mar 21, 2022: Cessna 172P (N98763), Kekaha, HI, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper decision to continue the visual-flight-rules flight into low visibility conditions, which resulted in controlled flight into terrain.

## Other reports on N98763 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19870324007999A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19870324007999A), Mar 24, 1987: Cessna 172P (N98763), Neosho, MO, Substantial damage. The aircraft struck guy wire while maneuvering to avoid IFR weather conditions. Pilot made safe emergency landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
