## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 29, 2022, A STUDENT PILOT ATTEMPTED A SOLO FLIGHT WITHOUT HIS FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ON THE FIELD AND WITHOUT A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ENDORSEMENT IN HIS LOGBOOK. DURING LANDING THE STUDENT PILOT STATED THAT HE FELT A STRONG GUST OF WIND AGAINST HIS PLANE AND STARTED VEERING TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY UPON WHEELS DOWN. THERE WAS EVIDENCE THAT THE PROPELLER CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY AND ALSO THE RIGHT WINGTIP. THERE WERE PROPELLER MARKINGS ON THE RUNWAY SURFACE AND THE PROPELLER TIPS WERE BENT. NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE STUDENT PILOT WAS THE ONLY PERSON ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT. THE WEATHER AT THE LUMBERTON AIRPORT NEAR THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WAS REPORTED AT 12:53 LOCAL, TEMPERATURE 46 DEGREES F, WIND VARIABLE AT 3 MPH, WITH OCCASIONAL GUST REPORTED FROM THE AIRPORT MANAGER.

THE PILOT SUBMITTED AN APOLOGY LETTER FOR HIS LACK OF JUDGMENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
