## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A CESSNA, MODEL R182 (N4803T), DEPARTED FROM A PRIVATE GRASS STRIP (LS09) IN CROWLEY, LA TO CONDUCT AERIAL OBSERVATION (PIPELINE PATROL) AT 0920CDT/1420Z. THE PILOT CALLED HOUSTON ATC AND REPORTED A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE AT 1110CDT/1610Z. THE AIRCRAFT LOST ENGINE POWER WHILE FLYING OVER THE SABINE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE IN CAMERON PARISH, LA. ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE ENGINE WERE UNSUCCESSFUL AND THE PILOT PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY BELLY LANDING IN THE MARSH WETLAND, THEN EGRESSED THE PLANE. THE PILOT CALLED HOUSTON ATC VIA CELL PHONE AND LET THEM KNOW HE WAS UNINJURED. THE CAMERON PARISH SHERIFF?S OFFICE AND U.S. WILDLIFE AGENT RESPONDED VIA AIR BOAT TO RESCUE THE PILOT. THERE WAS NO CARGO OR PASSENGERS ON BOARD AND THE PILOT WAIVED HIS RIGHT FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS DEEMED AS MINOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
