## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 21, 2022, AT APPROXIMATELY 0940 PT, THE LAS FSDO RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM THE WESTERN PACIFIC?S REGIONAL OPERATIONS CENTER, REGARDING AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING A 1969 CESSNA 182, SINGLE ENGINE AIRPLANE, REGISTRATION NUMBER N182HH, SERIAL NUMBER 182-60045. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN BY GUSTY WIND WHILE TAXING TO RUNWAY 19L AT HARRY REID INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (LAS), LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, AND SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

THE AIRPLANE WAS TAXING ON A MAGNETIC HEADING OF APPROXIMATELY 111 DEGREES AND THE WIND CONDITIONS WERE REPORTED BY ATC AS 160 AT 26 KNOTS GUSTING TO 30 KNOTS JUST PRIOR TO THE AIRPLANE BEING PUSHED UP FROM THE TAIL ON TO THE NOSE THAN OVER ON ITS BACK.

THE INVESTIGATION OF THE SCENE REVEALED THAT THE AIRCRAFT?S TAIL WAS PUSHED UP CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE TAXIWAY BEFORE BEING FLIPPED OVER. THE AIRPLANE WAS PUSHED ON TO ITS NOSE AND TO THE LEFT BEFORE IT CAME TO A REST ON ITS BACK. THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET OF SKID MARK FROM THE LEFT LANDING GEAR TIRE OUTER EDGE BEFORE THE AIRPLANE WAS LIFTED UP FROM THE TAIL. THE PROPELLER, RUDDER, WINGS AND FUSELAGE ALL SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22LA162](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22LA162), Apr 21, 2022: Cessna 182 (N182HH), Las Vegas, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain sufficient clearance from the jet blast of a departing jet airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
