## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 23, 2022 AT APPROXIMATELY 1847 HOURS (LOCAL), N737UY WAS PERFORMING A TOUCH AND GO ON RUNWAY 23 AT UNION COUNTY AIRPORT (35A). THE PILOT STATED, AFTER LANDING HE RAISED THE FLAPS AND INCREASED THROTTLE TO BEGIN THE TAKEOFF. THE AIRCRAFT THEN VEERED TO THE RIGHT OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE RUNWAY AND HE CORRECTED BY APPLYING LEFT RUDDER. THE AIRCRAFT THEN VEERED TO THE LEFT ACROSS THE CENTERLINE OF THE RUNWAY AND INTO THE GRASS AS HE APPLIED BRAKES AND REDUCED THE THROTTLE. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED INTO THE GRASS AND CAME TO REST AFTER CONTACTING BRUSH AND A DITCH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA201](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA201), Apr 23, 2022: Cessna 172 (N737UY), Union, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in a runway excursion and impact with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
