ON APRIL 23, 2022, 5:15PM LOCAL TIME, AN EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT MODEL RANS S-12XL, SERIAL NUMBER 06061007, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, DEPARTED ANTONIO ?NERY? JUARBE POL REGIONAL AIRPORT (ARE), ARECIBO, P.R, DESTINED TO EUGENIO MARIA DE HOSTOS REGIONAL AIRPORT (MAZ). VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED, AND NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED FOR THIS FLIGHT. THE PERSONAL FLIGHT WAS CONDUCTED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF 14 CFR PART 91.

PIC REPORTED THAT 25MIN INTO THE FLIGHT, AND AROUND 1900 FEET INDICATED ALTITUDE, A GRADUAL LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, INCLUDING ENGINE ROUGHNESS WAS NOTED, THAT CONDITION QUICKLY ESCALATED TO COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE, THE PIC TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE UNSUCCESSFULLY. AIRCRAFT CRASH-LANDED AT APPROXIMATELY 5:45PM LOCAL TIME IN THE HEAVILY FORESTED AREA AT BARRIO PLANA, ISABELA, P.R. COORDINATES 18°23?03.1N 66°57?05.2 W, NO INJURIES REPORTED.
