## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED:

"I ESTIMATE MY TOUCHDOWN SPEED BETWEEN 65-70 KNOTS. DURING THE LANDING ROLLOUT I FELT A "POP" ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT ALMOST AS IF I HIT A POTHOLE. THE AIRCRAFT LEANED SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT. I THOUGHT I HAD BLOWN A TIRE AND THAT I WOULD BE ROLLING ON THE RIM VERY SOON. I DID NOT USE BRAKES UNTIL I WAS CLOSER TO THE TURNOFF. DURING THE TURN OFF THE RUNWAY, THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR LEG COLLAPSED. THE RIGHT WINGTIP DRAGGED THE GROUND AND THE AIRPLANE TURNED QUICKLY TO THE RIGHT, STOPPING WHILE STILL ON THE ASPHALT AND FACING GENERALLY NORTH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA230](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA230), May 14, 2022: Beech C24 (N6016K), Gallatin, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: A landing gear collapse due to the failure and/or separation of the pin in the right main landing gear.

## Other reports on N6016K (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19801012073819I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19801012073819I), Oct 12, 1980: Beech C24R (N6016K), Islesboro, ME, Minor damage. Zd lost directional control on takeoff. Struck rocks lined up along side of the run way.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
