## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE GATES AT MKG REQUIRE A SHARP RIGHT TURN OUT TO CLEAR THE OBSTACLES ASSOCIATED WITH THE TERMINAL BUILDING. THE CAPTAIN INTITIATED THE TURN CORRECTLY, BUT WAS DISTRACTED BY A RADIO TRANSMISSION CONTAINING AN ALTIMETER SETTING. HE RELEASED HIS HAND FROM THE STEERING TILLER AND WENT HEADS DOWN TO MAKE THE ADJUSTMENT TO THE ALTIMETER. THE GROUND CREW WERE TRYING TO GET THE ATTENTION OF THE CREW TO GET THEM TO STOP, BUT THEY WERE NOT SEEN IN TIME TO PREVENT THE LEFT WING-TIP FROM STRIKING A SUPPORT PYLON ATTACHED TO THE BUILDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
