## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT NARRATIVE: "AT APPROXIMATELY 50? ON FINAL APPROACH RWY 01R, A FLOCK OF BIRDS THAT WERE IN THE GRASS TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY, STARTED TO FLY AWAY. AT 20 FEET, THEY CHANGED THEIR PATH AND CAME ACROSS THE RUNWAY FROM RIGHT TO LEFT. AT THIS POINT, I HAD ALREADY BEGUN BRINGING THE THRUST TO IDLE FOR TOUCHDOWN. I COMMITTED TO LAND BECAUSE A GO AROUND WOULD HAVE LIKELY RESULTED IN A BIRD STRIKE ANYWAY. JUST BEFORE TOUCHDOWN, WE HIT MULTIPLE BIRDS. TOWER WAS ADVISED IMMEDIATELY."

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
