## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA263](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA263), Jun 6, 2022: Cessna 172 (N29501), Westminster, MD, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s loss of control during a go-around and the delayed remedial action initiated by the flight instructor, which resulted in a runway excursion and collision with trees.

## Other reports on N29501 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19780209007869I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19780209007869I), Feb 9, 1978: Cessna 172 (N29501), North Canton, OH, Minor damage. Student pilot taxied too fast and too close to a parked airplane on an icy ramp. Instructor unable to stop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
