## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

06/07/2022 PILOT INTERVIEW.

I PREFLIGHTED AIRCRAFT. SUMP BOTH TANKS AND ENGINE FILTER. PREFLIGHT WAS NORMAL NO CONTAMINATION OF FUEL. AIRCRAFT WAS PARKED ON THE GRASS AT THE NW T HANGARS.

RUN UP WAS NORMAL.

ENTERED RUNWAY OPENED THROTTLE TO FULL. ENGINE RPMS WERE OVER 5,000 WHICH IS THE NORMAL RANGE. EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL. STARTED MY TAKEOFF ROLL. ABOUT 200 FEET AGL HEARD A DIFFERENCE IN ENGINE RPM, HAD A FEW MOMENTS OF PARTIAL POWER THEN ENGINE STOPPED COMPLETELY.

AT THAT MOMENT INCREASED ANGLE OF ATTACK, VERIFIED FUEL PUMP WAS ON AND SWITCHED FUEL SELECTOR FROM LEFT TO RIGHT TANK AND TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE. WHEN ENGINE DID NOT START, FOCUSED ON LANDING THE AIRCRAFT STRAIGHT AHEAD. MANEUVERED THE PLANE AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE BUT WITHOUT STALLING. HIT THE FENCE JUST ABOVE STALL SPEED. CAME TO REST JUST OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT. AFTER THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST. I MOVED THE FUEL SELECTOR TO OFF, TURNED OFF THE AVIONICS AND PUT THE PARACHUTE PIN BACK IN THE HANDLE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22LA203](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22LA203), Jun 7, 2022: Czech Sport Aircraft A S Sportcruiser (N565L), Hillsboro, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: A missing fuel filler cap O-ring, which resulted in a total loss of engine power due to water contamination in the fuel.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
