## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

GYRO PLANE WAS JUST PURCHASED AND PILOT DECIDED TO TEST FLY. ACCORDING TO THE PILOTS STATEMENTS, AFTER LIFT OFF THE AIRCRAFT LOST POWER AND CRASHED INTO POWERLINES AND WOODS. AFTER INSPECTION, IT WAS DETERMIND THAT THE AIRCAFTS FUEL SENDING UNIT HAD RTV SEALER COMING OUT OF PLACE AND CONTAMINATING THE FUEL. THE LOOSE SEALANT BLOCKED THE FUEL LINE AND FUEL STARVATION CAUSED THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING. LOSS OF POWER CAUSED THE AIRCAFT NOT TO SUSTAIN FLIGHT AND PILOT LOSS CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA313](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA313), Jun 11, 2022: Whittridge Twinstarr (N298RW), Indian Trail, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: A blockage of the fuel filter inlet by a piece of debris, which resulted in fuel starvation and a total loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
