## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED HE PERFORMED GUMPS MEMORY ITEMS (GAS, UNDERCARRIAGE, MIXTURE, PROPS, SEATBELTS) BEFORE LANDING AT THE ACCOMACK COUNTY AIRPORT. HOWEVER, HE STATED HE WAS DISTRACTED IN THE COCKPIT WHILE CONVERSING WITH A FRIEND IN THE RIGHT SEAT. THE PILOT STATED HE FAILED TO VERIFY THE LANDING GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. THIS RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHING DOWN AND LANDING WITH THE GEAR IN THE RETRACTED POSITION CAUSING MINIMAL DAMAGE TO THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND PROPELLER. DAMAGE IS CONSISTENT WITH THE GEAR IN THE FULLY RETRACTED POSITION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
