## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 22, 2022 N776PA, A 1979 BEECHCRAFT BE-76, S/N ME-284 LANDED ON RWY 6R AT THE MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (MLB) WITH THE NLG STUCK IN THE WHEEL WELL, DAMAGING THE PROPELLERS, RADOME, FORWARD BULKEAD, FORWARD STRINGERS, SKINS AND NOSE GEAR DOORS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS PLACED ON JACKS AND THE LEFT NLG DOOR PIANO HINGE WAS FOUND TO BE NEARLY SEIZED CAUSING THE DOOR RETRACTION GUIDE PIN TO BE FOULED IN THE GUIDE, JAMING THE NLG IN THE UP POSITION. THE MAINTENANCE CREW WAS COUNSELED, THE OPERATOR HAS IMPLEMENTED A SPECIAL LUBRICATION AND INSPECTION PROCESS TO ENSURE THE DOOR HINGES HAVE FREE MOVEMENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
