## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 36, THE PILOT REACHED FOR WHAT HE BELIEVED TO BE THE FLAP HANDLE BUT WAS INSTEAD THE GEAR HANDLE. THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT IN THE RIGHT SEAT NOTICED THE ERROR INSTANTLY AND ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE GEAR HANDLE BACK IN THE EXTENDED CONFIGURATION, HOWEVER, AT THIS POINT IT WAS TOO LATE AND THE GEAR RE-TRACTED, CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE BELLY OF THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
