## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE ATTEMPTING AN APPROACH TO RWY 31, THE PILOT BECAME FIXATED ON HIS AIMPOINT. THIS ALLOWED HIM TO GET LOW FOR THE APPROACH. THE AIRCRAFT WHEELS IMPACTED THE TOP OF A PASSENGER CAR THAT WAS TRAVELING JUST OFF AIRPORT PROPERTY. DAMAGE TO THE CAR WAS MINOR AND NO PASSENGER INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA289](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA289), Jun 25, 2022: Luscombe 8A (N1476K), Palmyra, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain a proper glide path to the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
