## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED AIRCRAFT AND ON ROLL OUT, THE LEFT WHEEL ASSEMBLY BROKE APART. THIS CAUSED THE TIRE INNERTUBE TO DEFLATE AND THE LEFT LOWER WING TIP AND AILERON OUTBOARD TRAILING EDGE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE.

- [Accident 19800504012689A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19800504012689A), May 4, 1980: Boeing A75N1 (N4997V), Marengo, IL, Substantial damage. Reported left brake failed on landing. Hit right brake. Veered off runway into a fence. Fluid on left brake.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
