## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 3, 2022 AT APPROXIMATELY 0710 EST, AN AIR CAM AIRCRAFT REGISTRATION ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^APPROACHED RUNWAY 01 AT SEBRING AIRPORT (KSEF). AS THE AIRCRAFT ATTEMPTED LANDING, THE WITNESSED STATED THAT THE APPROACH WAS UNEVEN AND THE RIGHT SIDE MAIN LANDING GEAR HIT THE RUNWAY WITH A HARD LANDING. AT THE TIME OF IMPACT, THE RIGHT SIDE LANDING GEAR WHEEL BUSTED OFF BECOMING DISCONNECTED AND LANDING ABOUT 200 METERS AWAY ON THE AIRFIELD. THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE GROUND ONCE AFTER THE WHEEL DEPARTED, AND ASCENDED. ONCE THE AIRCRAFT WAS IN THE AIR AT ABOUT 100 METERS, AND THEN ENTERED INTO A STALL SPIN AND THEN IMPACTED THE EAST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY 01. AT THIS POINT THE AIRCRAFT HAD LANDED UPSIDE DOWN AND SKIDDED ACROSS THE RUNWAY STOPPING AT ON THE WEST SIDE OF RUNWAY 01 ABOUT 60 METERS FROM THE INITIAL LANDING. PILOT SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES. NTSB CONDUCTED INTERVIEW WITH PILOT AND ALLOWED FOR THE FAA TO REVIEW RECORD OF CONVERSATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA299](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA299), Jul 3, 2022: Arnold J/Jones D L AIR CAM (N6272Z), Sebring, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of control during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
