## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE DESCENDING THROUGH 9,000FT, THE FLIGHT CREW RECEIVED A SMOKE AFT LAV MASTER CAUTION MESSAGE. THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND CONTINUED DESCENDING IN TO KCLT. CREW ADVISED ATC THAT THEY WOULD BE STOPPING ON RUNWAY 36R. AIRCRAFT HAD AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING AND ALL PASSENGERS EVACUATED THE AIRCRAFT THROUGH THE MAIN ENTRY DOOR. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED AND PASSENGERS WERE BUSED TO THE TERMINAL. NO FIRE OR SMOKE WAS FOUND. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THAT A FAULTY AFT LAV SMOKE DETECTOR HAD CAUSED AN ERRONEOUS WARNING MESSAGE. THE DETECTOR WAS REPLACED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. PSA AIRLINES SUBMITTED SERVICE DIFFICULTY REPORT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^202207051111 FOR THE FAULTY DETECTOR.

REVIEWED BLS

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
