## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FOLLOWING TOUCHDOWN ON RUNWAY 26, THE PILOT STATED THAT HE OBSERVED BRAKING ACTION WAS VERY SOFT. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE RAISED THE AIRCRAFT NOSE TO ADD AERODYNAMIC DRAG AND APPLIED FULL PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES WITH VERY LITTLE DECELERATION NOTED. THE PILOT STATED HE PUMPED THE BRAKES MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO RESULTS. THE PILOT STATED HE EXECUTED MULTIPLE S-TURNS BACK AND FORTH ACROSS THE RUNWAY IN AN ATTEMPT TO SLOW THE AIRCRAFT. IN THE FINAL RIGHTWARDS SWING, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR SNAPPED OFF AND THE PLANE DEPARTED THE CENTERLINE AT A 45-DEGREE ANGLE. AIRCRAFT VEERED TOWARDS THE LEFT AND DOWN A 20-FOOT EMBANKMENT AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE SUBSEQUENT FAA INVESIGATION FOUND BOTH BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS NEARLY DEPLETED OF HYDRAULIC FLUID, LOOSE HYDRAULIC FITTINGS, AND HYDRAULIC FLUID COATING THE LINES UNDER THE CABIN FLOOR PANELS. AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE, EMPENNAGE, PROPELLERS, AND LANDING GEAR AS A RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA316](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA316), Jul 14, 2022: Cessna P337H (N5GY), Monongahela, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The malfunction of the braking system fluid line, which resulted in an overrun of the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
