## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 24 JULY 2022 ABOUT 1400 LOCAL TIME, AFTER PERFORMING A FLY OVER OF THE INTENDED LANDING AREA THE PILOT LANDED HIS MAULE M-4-210 ON A 500 FOOT UNIMPROVED CLEARING (MOOSE STRIP). PILOT STATED HE HAD NEVER LANDED THERE BEFORE. THE PILOT STATED HE WAS TRYING TO KEEP THE TAIL UP TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE TAILWHEEL FROM THE LANDING AREA. DURING THE FINAL ROLL OUT OF THE LANDING, AND WHILE BRAKING UNDER 10 MILES PER HOUR, HIS RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR HIT A DEPRESSION COVERED BY A BLUEBERRY BUSH CAUSING THE AIRPLANE TO FLIP NOSE OVER ONTO ITS BACK.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
