## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 07/27/2022, AT APPROXIMATELY 1930 HOURS THE PILOT OF MOONEY MODEL M20K-231^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 20. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON I20 APPROXIMATLY 2 MILES EAST OF PEQ WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED THE #6 CYLINDER CONNECTING ROD FAILED CAUSING CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
