## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE MORNING OF WEDNESDAY JULY 27, 2022, THE PILOT DEPARTED HILLTOP AIRPORT (AK24) FOR A REMOTE UNIMPROVED AIRSTRIP. THE REMOTE LANDING SITE IS LOCATED AT N61.21.02, W152.43.0. UPON ATTEMPTED LANDING THE TIRES OF THE PA-18 STRUCK A BERM SHORT OF THE INTENDED LANDING STRIP AND BOUNCED, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER OFF COURSE AND INTO THE TREES (ALDERS) NEXT TO THE LANDING STRIP. THE PROPELLER, WINGS AND AIRFRAME OF THE PA-18 ALL RECEIVED DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
