## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED DARE COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT (KMQI) FOR CHARLOTTE-MONRO EXECUTIVE AIRPORT (KEQY). AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES INTO FLIGHT, THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING A LITTLE ROUGH. THE ENGINE ISSUE STARTED GETTING WORSE AS THE FLIGHT WENT ON. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND WAS PLANNING TO LAND IN A PLOWED FIELD NEAR STATE HIGHWAY 64. AT THE LAST MINUTE, THE PILOT DECIDED TO LAND ON STATE HIGHWAY 64 INSTEAD AND DID NOT HAVE TIME TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR. THERE WAS NO POST LANDING FIRE AND MINIMAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
