## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

08/01/2022- BEECH 35,^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED WHEN IT WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AT WAUCHULA, FLORIDA (KCHN).

THE PILOT REPORTED THE AIRPLANE EXPERIENCED A TOTAL LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER DURING CRUISE FLIGHT. HE USED THE EMERGENCY HANDLE TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR. HE "CRANKED IT ABOUT 40 TIMES, WHICH SHOULD BE DOWN AND LOCKED," UNTIL IT STOPPED. DURING THE SUBSEQUENT SOFT FIELD LANDING THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AND SPUN THE AIRPLANE TO THE LEFT BEFORE COMING TO REST.

AIRCRAFT TAKEN TO FL AIRCRAFT RECOVERY FACILITY LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE FL, FOR FURTHER EXAMINATION BY NTSB.

UPON NTSB COMPLETIION OF INVESTIGATION AND FINDINGS, THIS REPORT AND CORRECTIVE ACTION WILL BE UPDATED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA349](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA349), Aug 1, 2022: Beech 35 (N119ED), Wauchula, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control after landing. A contributing factor was a degraded left main landing gear wheel assembly.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
