## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 04, 2022 AT 1730Z, A CESSNA 182 WAS COMING INTO THE N21 AIRPORT FOR LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING PILOTED BY^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WHEN THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK POWERLINES THAT EXTENDED ACROSS THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD AT AROUND 60 FEET AGL. THE AIRCRAFT ATTEMPTED TO PULL UP BUT STRUCK THE LINES WITH THE MAIN GEAR AND THEN FLIPPED AROUND THE POWERLINES, LANDING ONTO THE THRESHOLD OF THE RUNWAY TAIL FIRST. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED WHEN THE TAIL CRUMPLED UPON IMPACT. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRPLANE AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA356](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA356), Aug 4, 2022: Cessna 182C (N8865T), Holly Ridge, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance of powerlines on final approach.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
