## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 16, 2022 AT ABOUT 1945 N582CD WAS LANDING IN BIL WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. THE STUDENT PILOT WAS LANDING THE AIRCRAFT. STUDENT PILOT STATED THAT HE NOTICED SHIMMYING IN THE NOSE LANDING GEAR AS THEY TOUCHED DOWN. THE STUDENT PILOT LIFTED THE NOSE, ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO SLOW DOWN, AND THEN ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE NOSE LANDING GEAR ON THE RUNWAY AGAIN. THE STUDENT PILOT NOTED THE SAME SHIMMYING AND PERFORMED THE SAME ACTION 2 MORE TIMES. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT TO PUT THE NOSE LANDING GEAR ON THE RUNWAY, THE GEAR COLLAPSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
