## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT OVER ROTATED DURING A SOFT-FIELD TAKEOFF FROM HIS PRIVATE GRASS AIRSTRIP, AND SETTTLED BACK TO THE GROUND. HE THEN ELECTED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY DUE TO NIL BREAKING ON THE WET GRASS AND OVERRAN THE REMAINING RUNWAY, COLLIDING WITH A FENCE AND WATER-FILLED DITCH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22LA315](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22LA315), Aug 20, 2022: Cessna 182Q (N735DU), Donnelly, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper decision to takeoff from a wet grass runway which did not allow for adequate braking traction when the pilot aborted the takeoff, which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
