## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD REPLACED THE BRAKES AND REPACKED THE MAIN LANDING GEAR BEARINGS WITH GREASE. HE THEN TOOK THE AIRCRAFT OUT FOR A PERSONAL FLIGHT. HE STATED THAT SOMETHING "DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT" AS HE TOOK OFF. HE FLEW THE PATTERN AND CAME IN FOR A LANDING ON THE GRASS PARALLEL TO RUNWAY 18. AS HE TOUCHED DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT BECAUSE THE RIGHT BRAKE LOCKED. HE ADDED LEFT BRAKE IN AN ATTEMT TO STRAIGHTEN OUT. AS HE APPLIED THE LEFT BRAKE THE NOSE WENT OVER AND THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN ON THE GRASS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN22LA396](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN22LA396), Aug 27, 2022: Javron Experimental PA18 Replica (N954SC), Osceola, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The stuck right brake at landing which resulted in a loss of control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
