## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRMAN'S STATEMENT: HE REVIEWED THE WEATHER VIA FOREFLIGHT, PREFLIGHT THE AIRCRAFT AND INTENDED TO COMPLETED A FEW LANDINGS. HE COMPLETED A LANDING ON KSDL THEN DEPARTED TO A39 TO PRACTICE DIRT LANDINGS. UPON ARRIVAL THE WIND WAS 140@7-9 KNOTS. HE SET UP FOR RUNWAY 22 AND COMPLETED 1 THREE POINT LANDING. THE NEXT LANDING HAD A GOOD PROFILE AND AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS ON THE GROUND BUT THE TAIL HAD NOT SETTLED YET. A GUST OF WIND PICKED UP THE LEFT WING AND HE RESPONDED WITH ALERIONS AS WELL AS BRAKES TO COMPLEMENT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN ROLLED FROM THE LEFT TO THE RIGHT. THE AIRMAN DID NOT SEE ANY VISIBLE DUST DEVILS IN THE AREA AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22LA318](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22LA318), Aug 27, 2022: Leon E Everett Carbon CUB EX (N628LE), Maricopa, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airplane control during landing with a crosswind and the use of excessive braking application, which resulted in a nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
