## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

OUR OFFICE WAS NOTIFIED ON AUGUST 27, 2022 OF AN ACCIDENT THAT OCCURRED ON AUGUST 27, 2022 AT ABOUT 09:17 LOCAL TIME, OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THAT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED AT A PRIVATE GRASS STRIP IN REXBURG, ID. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE NOTICED WATER ON THE NORTH END OF THE LANDING AREA. HE STATED THAT HE LANDED LONG TO THE SOUTH OF THE WET AREA WITH A 5 KT TAILWIND. WHEN THE AIRPLANE TOUCHED DOWN, IT ENCOUNTERED STANDING THE WATER. THE AIRPLANE SUBSEQUENTLY NOSED OVER, COMING TO REST INVERTED. THE WINGS AND THE VERTICAL STABILIZER WERE SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22LA319](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22LA319), Aug 27, 2022: Cessna 305C (0-1E) (N305SU), Rexburg, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airplane control during the landing roll on a wet airstrip.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
