## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ARRIVED ON SCENE AT 1930 CST. AIRCRAFT WAS LOCATED IN A PASTURE. AIRCRAFT COWLING, WINDSHIELD, AND FUSELAGE WERE COVERED IN ENGINE OIL. ENGINE WAS SEIZED. AIRCRAFT HAD APPROX. 26 GALLONS OF FUEL ONBOARD. NO OTHER DAMAGE NOTED TO AIRCRAFT. PILOT STATED THAT THEY WERE DEPARTING KJWY TO THE SOUTH TO CHECK ADS-B. WHEN PILOT REACHED 2500 MSL THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION FROM THE ENGINE, THEN THE PILOT SAW ENGINE OIL ON THE COWLING AND WINDSHIELD. SMOKE STARTED TO FILL THE COCKPIT WHILE THE PILOT WAS MAKING AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING. NO INJURIES REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
