## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 29, AT APPROXIMATELY 1550 EDT, A MECHANIC STATED HE SEEN A STORM APPROCHING THE KHAI AIRPORT. NOTICING THE AIRCRAFT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CESSNA 172K, WAS NOT TIED DOWN, HE DECIDED TO TAXI THE AIRCRAFT FROM A RAMP AREA TO THE AIRCRAFT TIE-DOWN AREA. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN BY A LARGE GUST OF WIND WHILE TAXIING. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH WINGS, EMPENNAGE, VERTICAL, RUDDER AND PROPELLER. THE MECHANIC WAS UNINJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
