AIRCREW USED PROCEDURE FOR LANDING WITH ZERO HYRAULIC "A" SYSTEM PRESSURE. PILOTS USED EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM AS PRACTICED IN THE FLIGHT SIMULATOR AND SPECIFIED IN EMERGENCY PROCEDURES CHECKLIST. NORMAL APPROACH AND TOUCH DOWN. AS SOON AS EMERGENCY BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE LEFT WHEEL BRAKE LOCKED UP AND BEGAN TO SKID, THE PILOT MAINTAINED DIRECTIONAL CONTROL UNTIL HE LOST RUDDER EFECTIVENESS.THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO SWERVE TO THE LEFT AND PIVOT ON THE LOCKED LEFT WHEEL BRAKE. THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR WAS OVERWHELMED BY THE SIDE LOAD AND COLLAPSED. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP AND THE CREW EXITED THE AIRCRAFT.
