## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2022, THE PIC OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED AIRPORT SGU WITH THE INTENTION OF INSTRUCTING AN UNCERTIFICATED STUDENT PILOT ON TOUCH AND GOES AT AIRPORT 1L8. THE STUDENT LANDED UNEVENTFULLY ON RUNWAY 17 OF 1L8 DURING THE FIRST TOUCH AND GO; HOWEVER, DURING LANDING ROLLOUT THE STUDENT LEANED TO THE LEFT TO LOOK AT THE CARBURETOR HEAT GAUGE. THE STUDENT INADVERTENTLY BUMPED THE YOKE LEFT CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO RESPOND WHERE IT IMPACTED A TAXI LIGHT AS WELL AS A RUNWAY SIGN. THIS IMPACT CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR AND LEFT WINGTIP FAIRING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
