## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KRDD WITH APPROXIMATELY 40 GALLONS OF FUEL AT APPROXIMATELY MAXIMUM GROSS WEIGHT FOR KPDT. USING THE TAB IN FUEL TANK FILLER NECK TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL ON BOARD. PILOT SWITCHED TANKS SEVERAL TIMES TO MAINTAIN A BALANCED FUEL LOAD. AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES SOUTH OF THE PDT AIRPORT AT 3500 FEET THE ENGINE QUIT RUNNING. THE PILOT TRIED TO RESTART IT WITH NO REAL RESULTS. PILOT MADE AN EMEGENCY GEAR UP LANDING IN A EMTPY FIELD. AFTER LANDING PILOT LOOKED IN EACH FUEL TANK AND COULD NOT SEE OR HEAR AND RESIDUAL FUEL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
